What would it take to redesign health care around well-being instead of disease response?
The Office of Wellness Education (OWE) believes it begins with broadening the way healthcare is viewed, managed, and delivered within the clinical setting.
Emily Sheldon, MPH, OWE’s Associate Director, says this begins with “thinking through prevention and well-being as core components of how we practice medicine alongside treatment.” OWE aims to transform healthcare from a predominantly disease response system to a system that includes prevention and well-care, bridging the gap between medical practice and everyday well-being.
